Birdy Sketching
I've gone and got the blooming lurgy and its just not shifting! I am not up to doing much so I sat in bed and sketched some little birdies to go in my Altered Book.
They are done with Derwent Inktense pencils which are my absolute favourites. I've used mainly browns and greens this time but they do also come in the most stunning colours; vibrant and intense, as the name suggests.
But that is only one of the best bits. When you wet them with water they turn into the most
brilliant ink like paint which blends really well and becomes permanent when dry.
This means that you can also colour onto cloth with them. So they are great for starting off little embroidery pieces rather than starting on a blank piece of cloth.
The bird below is a little Robin for the 12th day of Christmas, The Epiphany, which is tomorrow.
I haven't had time to sketch for ages so I suppose something good came out of my gloomy day. I'm ready to feel better now tho'.
Love your work Paula..... Just incredibly beautiful. X Trish z.
